Prof. Dr. Zoran Miljković, Head of the Department of Production Engineering and Director of the Laboratory for Industrial Robotics and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, appeared as a guest on the program “Van kocke” broadcast on Euronews Serbia. The discussion focused on the current development and application of humanoid and service robots, addressing manufacturing challenges and future perspectives at both global and national levels. Prof. Miljković emphasized that the mass adoption of humanoid robots is still limited and will primarily evolve through human–robot collaboration within the Industry 5.0 framework. He highlighted the pioneering role of the Belgrade School of Robotics and its long-standing contribution to humanoid locomotion research. The interview also addressed contemporary robot learning approaches, including vision-based systems, and deep learning. Particular attention was given to safety and cybersecurity challenges in advanced robotic systems. In this context, the MCSecurity project was presented as a key joint initiative of the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Duke University, focused on AI-based protection of motion control and visual navigation systems in Industry 4.0.
