Project scopes

Hardware equipment

Motion control (MC) systems as significant element of Industrial Control Systems (ICS) applied in different manufacturing assets such as numerically controlled (NC) machines or mobile robots represent an interesting target for cyber-attacks.
The main goal of MCSecurity project is to create artificial intelligence (AI) based solutions for cybersecure MC within Industry 4.0.

Non-industrial impact

The impact of MCSecurity on the scientific community will be primarily achieved
through the publication of scientific papers and through datasets generation and open publishing.
Futhermore, one of the objectives of MCSecurity is to educate a new generation of experts in
cybersecurity within Industrial Control Systems. This will be achieved through the training of young researchers
and through the integration of the project results into the curricula of courses at the MSc level at FMEUB.

Industrial impact

The impact of MCSecurity on the industry and economy will be in two main directions,
one referring to the innovative technical solutions based on MCSecurity results
and the other to raise the awareness of industry and other stakeholders to the ICS cybersecurity issues.
